**Job Summary**

The Principal Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for leading the mechanical engineering discipline on complex projects, providing technical direction and guidance to team members, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mechanical engineering discipline on complex projects, providing technical direction and guidance to team members.
  • Develop and implement mechanical engineering designs, specifications, and procedures to ensure compliance with project requirements and company standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, planning, and other engineering disciplines, to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members, including design engineers, drafters, and other support staff.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design reports, procedures, and specifications.
  • Participate in project meetings, including kickoff meetings, design reviews, and project audits.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure that projects meet company standards and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure that their work meets project requirements and company standards.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure that team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of company procedures, standards, and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 15-20 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or member of a professional engineering society.
  • Fluent in English language.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, planning, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Travel to project sites, as required.
  • Work in a team-based environment, with a focus on collaboration and communication.

Reports to:

Project Lead Engineer, Project Engineering Manager, or Project Manager

Liaises with:

All Engineering disciplines, Safety Department, Project Management Team, Document Control, Project Planner, Project Cost Controller, QC and Certification Group, Procurement Group, Subcontractors, Vendors, and Customers

Supervises:

Senior Mechanical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and Associated Engineers
