Job Title: Health and Safety Advisor

Tomato Energy is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Health and Safety Advisor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will support the Health and Safety Manager in ensuring the workplace adheres to all relevant health and safety regulations, promoting a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Identify potential hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
Incident Reporting and Investigation:
  • Support the investigation of workplace accidents and incidents, ensuring that proper documentation is maintained.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports following incidents, including recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents and safety inspections.
Training and Awareness:
  • Assist in the development and delivery of health and safety training programs for employees.
  • Promote health and safety awareness throughout the organisation by organising training sessions, toolbox talks, and safety campaigns.
  • Ensure all employees are aware of their health and safety responsibilities.
Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay updated on relevant health and safety legislation, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assist in preparing for external audits and inspections.
Administrative Support:
  • Maintain and update health and safety records, including risk assessments, safety audits, and training logs.
  • Prepare and distribute health and safety documentation, including policies, procedures, and incident reports.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Health and Safety Manager.
Emergency Preparedness:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
  • Participate in emergency drills and exercises to ensure preparedness.
  • Support the coordination of first aid training and ensure that first aid kits are adequately stocked.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably within the energy sector or a similar industry.
  • Experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and delivering safety training.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
Skills and Personal Attributes:
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
