Housekeeping Manager Job Description

Isisekelo Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeping Manager to join our team in the Highlands of Scotland.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department, including managing a team of housekeeping staff.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive housekeeping policies and procedures.
  • Create and maintain cleaning schedules and ensure they are followed.
  • Prepare and manage budget for the housekeeping department.
  • Order cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and quality standards are met.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
  • Train and supervise housekeeping staff.
  • Handle guest complaints and ensure prompt resolution.
  • Collaborate with other department managers to ensure seamless operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of housekeeping activities, such as inventory, budgets, and employee schedules.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to housekeeping staff.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and implement best practices in the housekeeping department.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in hospitality management is a plus).
  • Proven experience as a housekeeping manager or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of housekeeping procedures and techniques.
  • Good understanding of budget management and cost control.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Good problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel management software.
