Position Overview

We are currently in search of a Senior Civil-Structural Engineer to contribute to the Decommissioning & Waste Services (DWS) sector within our Nuclear & Power division. This role is primarily based in Northwest England, although other locations across the UK may be considered.

Role Responsibilities:

As part of our civil/structural team, you will be tasked with delivering intricate design packages for prominent nuclear clients. Your responsibilities will include overseeing and mentoring junior engineers while collaborating with various engineering disciplines.

This position demands a senior role in project execution or the ability to demonstrate strong potential as a civil/structural lead, contributing effectively to multi-disciplinary design efforts with minimal supervision.

Candidate Profile:
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, showcasing excellent leadership qualities. Self-driven and capable of working independently as well as within a larger multi-disciplinary team.
  • A collaborative team player, able to engage effectively with colleagues across the market, other business units, and management.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in engineering design and validation, including first principles analysis, with a solid understanding of UK and International design standards and industry regulations. Previous experience in the nuclear sector is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Candidates should be an Incorporated Engineer or working towards chartership with a recognized institution such as The Institution of Civil Engineers or The Institution of Structural Engineers, holding a minimum accredited engineering degree.

Additional Information:

This role may necessitate security clearance, and employment offers will be contingent upon obtaining the appropriate level of clearance. The vetting process is managed by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require proof of residency in the UK for a minimum of five years.
