About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Registrar to join our team in Care of the Elderly at the Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive geriatric assessments to evaluate the medical, psychological, and functional status of older adults.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions commonly seen in elderly patients, such as dementia, frailty, falls, polypharmacy, and multiple comorbidities.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs and preferences of each patient, focusing on optimizing function and quality of life.
  • Provide medical care for elderly patients admitted to hospital wards, including those in geriatric units, rehabilitation units, and general medical wards.
  • Participate in daily ward rounds, updating care plans and ensuring appropriate follow-up for patients' conditions.
  • Manage complex cases and coordinate with other medical specialties as needed.
Requirements
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Clinical attachment complete
  • Minimum of 3-6 months paid experience in the NHS/UK
  • Valid GMC registration
