About the Role
The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geriatrician to join our Elderly Medicine department. As a Consultant in Elderly Medicine, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient services to the elderly population served by PAH.
- Lead and motivate the multidisciplinary team within your ward area to deliver effective patient-focused interventions and timely discharge planning.
- Create and maintain excellent working relationships with your team, management team, and external agencies.
- Engage fully in the development of services to meet the anticipated future challenges of the ageing population.
- Lead on and drive forward innovations within the service area.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust provides a full range of general acute, outpatient, and diagnostic services at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, the Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishop's Stortford, and St Margaret's Hospital in Epping. We employ 3,500 staff and serve a local population of around 350,000 people living in west Essex and east Hertfordshire.

Person Specification
- Training and experience equivalent to that required for UK CCT (or within 6 months of CCT/CESR being issued) in geriatric medicine.
- Entry on GMC Specialist Register in geriatric medicine or eligibility for specialist registration in geriatric Medicine within 6 months from the time of the interview.
- MRCP.
- Valid ALS or equivalent.
- Broad knowledge and experience of Geriatric Medicine and UK Acute Medicine and Ambulatory Care in UK.
