Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Residential Support Specialist to join our team at Precedo Healthcare Services. As a key member of our residential support team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and Encourage: Provide emotional support and encouragement to children and young people, helping them to build confidence and self-esteem.
  • Personal Care: Assist with personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Communication Skills: Develop and maintain effective communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, to build strong relationships with children, young people, and colleagues.
  • Challenging Situations: De-escalate challenging situations successfully, using positive behavior management techniques.
  • Community Activities: Support children and young people to participate in community activities, promoting social inclusion and independence.

Requirements:

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Understanding of Conditions: An understanding of conditions such as Autism, developmental delays, physical disabilities, and the emotional effects these may have on children and families.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, providing support and guidance to colleagues as needed.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
