Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Primary Integrated Community Services (PICS). As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective and efficient use of medicines in our community.
Main Responsibilities- Undertake patient-facing and patient-supporting roles to ensure effective medicines use, through shared decision-making conversations.
- Carry out medicines optimisation tasks, including effective medicine administration, supporting medication reviews, and medicine reconciliation.
- Support the Clinical Pharmacists in Structured Medication Review, including organising necessary monitoring tests prior to SMR.
- Provide expertise to address both public health and social care needs of patients, including lifestyle advice, service information, and tackling local health inequalities.
- Manage shared care protocols and liaise with Clinical Pharmacists for more complex patients.
- Support initiatives for antimicrobial stewardship to reduce inappropriate antibiotic prescribing locally.
- Promote Electronic Repeat Dispensing to patients.
- Promote online ordering through the NHS App.
- Support practice reception teams in streamlining prescription requests, allowing GPs and Clinical Pharmacists to review more clinically complex requests.
- Attend weekly Care Home Ward Rounds with GPs, face-to-face and virtually.
- Promote our culture of equality and diversity.
- Ensure our principles of openness, transparency, and candor are upheld.
- Continue annual training and CPD to maintain good practices, especially within Safeguarding and IPC.
- Identify learning needs, plan, implement, and evaluate programmes of education to meet identified needs.
- Establish own support mechanisms to enable structured reflection, including clinical supervision, development of supportive networks, mentoring, and coaching.
- Participate in and undertake clinical supervision of colleagues on an individual or group basis.
- Participate in the Divisional appraisal System and demonstrate the achievement of agreed personal objectives.
