Job Title: Cancer Support Team Lead

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Cancer Support Team Lead to join our team at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Support Workers in delivering high-quality care to patients affected by cancer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the delivery of the Cancer Single Point of Contact and Support Worker Service in line with the Service Operational Policy.
  • Be accountable to the General Manager for Cancer and Oncology Services.
  • Directly manage a team of Support Workers.
  • Provide expert advice on aspects of patient care within defined boundaries and limits.
  • Implement and roll out the Cancer Single Point of Contact and Support Worker Service through liaison with relevant departments and individuals.
Person Specification:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum typing speed of 45 WPM.
  • Sage and Thyme Foundation Communications skills course (or equivalent).
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Computer/Word processing qualification equivalent to RSA 2/3.
  • Customer Care course (or equivalent experience).
  • Extensive proven knowledge of Microsoft applications - Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Excellent and accurate data entry skills.
  • Proven ability to manipulate data and translate into reports of varying applications.
