Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to become a vital member of our Voice Communications team. This team is tasked with executing projects for the implementation and enhancement of systems such as Voice Communication & Control Systems (VCCSs), VHF and UHF radios, PABXs, and Voice and Radar Recording systems across various airport locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee assigned resources to meet project and work package goals as directed by the Head of Section.
  • Evaluate technical solutions proposed by manufacturers.
  • Develop and sustain Project Plans and Safety Cases for less complex initiatives.
  • Supervise daily operations for the installation, commissioning, and optimization of new systems.
  • Conduct acceptance testing at supplier and customer locations.
  • Create and review procedures to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient system usage and reconfiguration.
  • Assist in monitoring operational systems by compiling serviceability data, ATC reports, status updates, and in-service operating data.
  • Investigate design faults in operational systems and implement corrective measures as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

  • HND level qualification in electronic engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years' recent experience in engineering aspects of in-service system management, with extensive equipment knowledge in safety-critical domains.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a Systems Engineering environment covering the entire project lifecycle, including:
    • Requirements derivation and elicitation
    • Designing effective and economical solutions to meet customer needs
    • Defining, specifying, and executing test and acceptance phases (e.g., FAT, SAT, UAT) to ensure solutions meet requirements
    • Collaborating closely with Suppliers and Technology Partners as the primary contact for assigned projects
    • Creating, updating, and maintaining comprehensive project and system documentation
    • Understanding project management techniques such as scheduling, estimation, and progress reporting
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a small team of Systems Engineers to deliver assigned work packages and projects.
