Job Title: Advanced Fostering Practitioner

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced healthcare professional to join our team as an Advanced Fostering Practitioner. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients in our Emergency Medicine department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the care of acute medical patients throughout the care pathway with the multidisciplinary team and clinical services.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients requiring urgent intervention, including fluid resuscitation, oxygen therapy, and antibiotics.
  • Undertake procedures such as cannulation, venepuncture, and arterial blood gases to facilitate efficient urgent care.
  • Prescribe and review medication, taking into account any treatment given previously for pre-existing medical conditions.
  • Promote and deliver evidence-based care for patients presenting to Acute Medicine.
Requirements:
  • Highly developed communication skills enabling maintenance of high-quality service within a complex and challenging environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective management of patients.
  • Experience in acute medicine and a strong understanding of clinical governance and quality improvement.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage own workload in a manner that maintains and promotes quality.
