We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Radiology Clinical Service Unit (CSU) as the Head of Profession. This is a key leadership position that requires a strong understanding of radiographic professional issues, care, and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional leadership and management of radiographers, sonographers, clinical technologists, assistant radiographic practitioners, and radiographic assistants.
- Ensure all imaging services are delivered to agreed quality standards, providing patient-focused services and promoting clinical excellence.
- Line manage modality lead radiographers, quality lead radiographer, and radiation safety protection team.
- Deliver the quality and safety agenda for the CSU in collaboration with the Lead Clinician for Quality and Patient Experience.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- BSc in diagnostic Radiography or equivalent/Current State Registration (HCPC).
- Specialised clinical training to Masters level or evidence of practical application of expertise at this level.
- Post-graduate qualification in a leadership/management programme/study or evidence of practical application of expertise at this level.
- Significant experience of middle/senior management level in a complex organisation.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development. Commitment to undergo all training requirements of the post.

We are looking for a candidate with:
- Significant specialist knowledge of radiographic professional issues and care and service delivery.
- Extensive experience of operational management.
- Knowledge and experience of human resources management.
- In-depth knowledge of the clinical governance agenda including clinical risk and safety.
- Demonstrates a clear understanding of and continuing acceptance of the need for financial governance and probity.
The successful candidate must be able to:
- Able to fulfil Occupational Health requirements for the post (with reasonable adjustments if necessary), including clearance on blood borne viruses in compliance with Trust Policy.
