Job Summary

St Leonard's Hospice is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Store Manager to join our team. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for managing all store activities, including stock management, cash handling, merchandising, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deputise for the Store Manager and take overall responsibility for managing the store
  • Manage stock levels, including ordering, receiving, and inventory control
  • Ensure accurate and efficient cash handling and reconciliation
  • Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies to drive sales and improve customer experience
  • Lead and manage a team of colleagues and volunteers to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service
  • Monitor and control store expenses, including inventory, supplies, and utilities
  • Collaborate with the Retail Team to achieve business objectives and improve store performance

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a retail management role, preferably in a charity retail environment
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
  • Basic administration and PC skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet business needs
