About the Role
NHS Blood and Transplant is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Blood Production Officer. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient processing of blood donations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and issue blood donations to hospitals, working closely with our team and supervisors to ensure seamless operations.
- Support and train less experienced staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Perform precise and repetitive manipulation of equipment and blood samples/donations, adhering to strict documented procedures.
- Handle blood bags and equipment, working in a regulated environment and adhering to strict protocols.
- Work variable hours, including weekends and bank holidays, as per the roster within the department.

Requirements
- A Level or NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area, or extensive experience in a logistics/supply chain environment.
- Minimum of GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths, or equivalent qualification.
- Willingness to undertake further training and development.
- Experience of working in a pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or laboratory environment, or with Information Technology such as Microsoft Office.
