About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral research associate to join our team at the University of Bristol, investigating the neurobiological basis for psychiatric disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct experiments using 2-photon microscopy and virtual reality environments to study the neurobiological basis of psychiatric disorders.
  • Analyze large datasets using appropriate analytical approaches to identify patterns and trends.
  • Present research findings at meetings and to the research group, and collaborate with colleagues to advance the project.
  • Develop research ideas, write papers, and explore independent funding options to further the project's goals.

Requirements:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline, such as neuroscience or a related field.
  • Expertise in rodent behaviour and recording and analyzing neuronal activity in vivo.
  • Experience with data handling and analysis, and a good understanding of synaptic physiology and the genetic basis of psychiatric disorders.
  • A desire to work as part of a collaborative research team and contribute to the advancement of the project.
