Position Summary

Gleeson Homes is in search of a Regional Finance Business Partner to collaborate closely with the Greater Manchester & Merseyside Regional management team, part of our Central Division. This finance position will primarily be located in the Regional office, with occasional visits to other Regional offices and the Head office to foster strong relationships with operational teams. The role will formally report to the Homes FD while necessitating daily collaboration with the Regional Managing Director and other senior management for success. Additionally, the position will engage significantly with key stakeholders, including the Divisional Managing Director, Homes CE, and CFO.

As a vital member of the Finance team, the successful candidate will partner with existing Senior and Regional Finance Business Partners, providing financial guidance, insights, and support to operational teams within the Region. They will also liaise with the Central Finance team to ensure effective communication of financial performance across the Region and deliver analysis on both financial and non-financial KPIs to assist the Region in achieving its growth objectives. The Regional Finance Business Partner will play a crucial role in the budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with the Senior Finance Business Partner and Central Finance team at various levels.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial data to operational teams in a straightforward and concise manner, both verbally and in writing. Proficiency in extracting and manipulating data from the COINs ERP system is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Integral member of the Finance team, collaborating with existing Senior and Regional Finance Business Partners while supporting the Homes FD
  • Partner closely with the Regional Managing Director to provide and interpret financial and operational KPIs, facilitating informed operational decision-making and driving necessary actions
  • Support and challenge Regional operational teams in evaluating new site appraisals, monitoring existing site performance, and managing overheads from both financial and non-financial perspectives
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly Regional reporting packages, including financial reports from the Central Finance team, along with commentary on operational and financial performance in conjunction with the Regional Managing Director
  • Lead the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts for the Region, working closely with the Senior Finance Business Partner and Central Finance team
  • Undertake specific projects and analyses as required by the Divisional Managing Director, Homes FD, CFO, and broader business

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A qualified accountant (e.g., ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with ideally 2-3 years of post-qualification experience
  • Previous experience in a finance role with exposure to commercial or business partnering
  • Strong communication skills and a proven ability to cultivate robust relationships with key operational stakeholders
  • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and documentation
  • Proficient IT skills, capable of managing a high volume of data effectively
  • An enthusiastic and ambitious team player with a strong work ethic
