**Job Title:** Deputy Governance Officer

**Job Type:** Temporary, 6-month fixed-term contract

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Governance Officer to join our Governance function on a temporary basis. As a key member of our team, you will provide comprehensive secretarial support to the Board and Executive Committee, and act as the lead regulatory and governance expert for the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Board and Executive Committee, including preparing meeting materials, taking minutes, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Act as the lead regulatory and governance expert for the SMCR, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and providing guidance to Senior Managers.
  • Collaborate with the Co-Sec and Chief Risk Officer to develop and implement governance policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of the Governance function, including identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
  • Work closely with the Senior Managers and Certification Regime team to ensure effective governance and compliance.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a governance or regulatory compliance role, preferably in the Financial Services sector.
  • Strong knowledge of the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR) and other relevant regulations.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours.
