We are seeking an experienced Locum Legal Services Manager & Deputy Monitoring Officer to join our team. This is a key role where you will provide strategic legal support to various departments and help uphold good governance across the council.
Key Responsibilities:- Supporting the Monitoring Officer in maintaining high standards of governance, ethics, and transparency within the council.
- Managing and resolving complaints and working closely with Councillors to address legal queries.
- Line management of a team.
- Providing expert legal advice on a variety of matters, with a strong knowledge of Local Government law across directorates.
- Office attendance required once per week.
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with strong leadership and governance experience.
- Strong people management skills, with a proven ability to oversee a legal team and work collaboratively with councillors and other stakeholders.
- Able to work a minimum of 3 days per week and up to 4 days per week.
