Job Description

**Design Researcher (Contract)**

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Design Researcher to join our team on a fixed-term contract.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience as a UX Researcher, User Researcher, or Design Researcher, with expertise in both Generative (Exploratory) and Evaluative research practises.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to lead the research practise and set clear strategies to achieve agreed outcomes.
  • Conduct in-depth user research to gather insights and uncover user needs, preferences, and pain points.
  • Plan, design, and conduct usability tests, interviews, surveys, and other research methods to validate design concepts and solutions.
  • Analyse and synthesise research findings to provide actionable insights that inform design decisions and drive improvements.
  • Create user personas, user journey maps, and other design artefacts to communicate research findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including designers, product managers, and developers, to ensure research findings are integrated into the design process.
  • Advocate for user-centred design principles and promote the importance of research within the organisation.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practises in design research, sharing knowledge and driving innovation within the team.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable experience specifically as a UX Researcher, User Researcher, or Design Researcher.
  • Proven experience in both Generative (Exploratory) and Evaluative research practises.
  • Strong collaboration skills, able to engage stakeholders to make research a team effort.
  • Good influencing skills and comfortable working closely with stakeholders with strong opinions.
  • Experience in different sectors, preferably including financial services.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
