About this role

Capital One is seeking a Senior Software Developer in Test to join our Nottingham-based Services team. As a key member of our Software Engineering department, you will play a crucial role in enabling the company's ambitions by delivering high-quality automated testing solutions.

Key responsibilities
  • Design and direct a testing strategy at system level, ensuring that software meets the required quality standards.
  • Convert product requirements into testing scenarios, using your technical expertise to identify potential issues.
  • Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks, leveraging technologies such as Java, Cucumber, and RestAssured.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that testing is integrated into the software development lifecycle.
  • Identify and prioritize testing opportunities, ensuring that the team is focused on delivering high-impact testing solutions.
Requirements
  • Excellent programming skills, with a strong background in Java and experience with cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Previous experience working with AWS or other cloud providers, with a deep understanding of cloud security and compliance.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Knowledge of Agile Scrum practices and experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Drive and initiative, with a passion for innovation and continuous learning.
