Position: Plant Maintenance Technician

Due to ongoing growth and expansion, we are seeking to enhance our team by hiring a qualified and experienced Plant Maintenance Technician. This role presents a valuable opportunity for career advancement within a well-respected and successful organization.

Working Hours

Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, totaling 45 hours per week, with an additional 4 hours on Saturday mornings, leading to a total of 49 hours weekly, plus opportunities for overtime.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct inspections and diagnostics on industrial shredders, granulators, conveyor systems, and other machinery.
  2. Resolve mechanical issues on plant equipment or coordinate the installation of replacements as necessary.
  3. Perform routine inspections on all plant machinery.
  4. Implement preventative maintenance strategies.
  5. Engage in welding tasks when required.
  6. Address breakdowns, unexpected issues, and necessary repairs.
  7. Verify the operational integrity of safety systems.

Qualifications and Skills

  1. Demonstrated mechanical and electrical expertise.
  2. Experience in the maintenance and repair of mobile plant equipment, such as forklifts.
  3. Familiarity with HGV maintenance or vehicle servicing is advantageous but not essential.
  4. Proven experience in the repair of equipment including conveyor systems, industrial shredders, and granulators.
  5. Background in maintaining various industrial machinery.
  6. Basic understanding of electrical systems is beneficial but not mandatory.
  7. Welding proficiency.
  8. Strong fault-finding capabilities.
  9. Excellent problem-solving skills.
  10. Fluency in English is required.
  11. Must be physically fit.
  12. Possession of a valid UK Driving License.
