CSS Recycling LTD is a leading processor and recycler of Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) waste in the UK. With over 35 years of experience, we have established ourselves as a trusted partner for local authorities, utility companies, and businesses alike.

We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plant machinery and equipment.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Inspect and troubleshoot industrial shredders, granulators, conveyor belts, and other plant machinery to identify and resolve technical issues.
  2. Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and ensure optimal performance.
  3. Carry out inspections on plant equipment to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  4. Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures.
  5. Perform welding activities as required to repair or maintain equipment.
  6. Respond to breakdowns and unplanned problems, and implement repairs or temporary solutions to minimize downtime.
  7. Verify the functionality of safety systems to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

  1. Previous experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  2. Experience in repairing mobile plant, such as forklifts, and a background in Lorries (HGV) maintenance or vehicle maintenance is an advantage.
  3. Knowledge of electrical systems and experience in repairing equipment such as conveyor belts, industrial shredders, and granulators is essential.
  4. Basic knowledge of welding and fault-finding skills is required.
  5. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently are essential.
  6. Fluent English is required, and a UK driving license is necessary for the role.
  7. Physical fitness is essential for the demands of the job.
