Due to ongoing project growth, our esteemed client is in search of a driven Principal Project Engineer to guide a team in executing large-scale capital projects, ensuring a safe, high-quality, and compliance-focused project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all stages of the project lifecycle, including feasibility studies, engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and final handover, ensuring all deliverables are met within the planned timeline and budget.
  • Manage projects primarily focused on chemical processes in high-risk environments, while also addressing infrastructure and utility enhancements.
  • Guide, mentor, and develop a team of diverse internal and/or external resources to successfully implement projects, including direct supervision of at least one team member.
  • Utilize various project delivery models such as EPC and EPCM, customized to meet the specific needs of each project.
  • Contribute to departmental initiatives aimed at enhancing our standards and methodologies for capital projects.
  • Promote a Safety-First culture by engaging with SHEQ initiatives and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including process and functional safety.
  • Participate in our Continuous Improvement program to support the achievement of business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in managing capital projects within a manufacturing, processing, or production context.
  • Strong technical and engineering capabilities, along with effective communication skills for leading meetings and managing project teams, including contractors.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and employ problem-solving techniques.
  • Proficient in both written and verbal communication, with above-average proficiency in technical software.

Work Environment:

This role is situated in a 24/7 manufacturing facility, requiring some extended hours to fulfill demanding shutdown and installation schedules.
