Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Procurement Specialist to join our Commercial team at the John Lewis Partnership. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional results in procurement, category management, and supply chain coordination.

About the Role:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to meet business objectives.
  • Manage and negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure best-in-class terms and prices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Provide expert advice on procurement best practices and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and report on commercial performance and delivery of KPIs to line manager and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare and negotiate annual terms with suppliers.
  • Manage costs and financial forecasting to ensure accurate budgeting.
  • Operate in line with GSCoP, Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery policies.
  • Manage both branded and own-label assortments, ensuring optimal product mix and pricing.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in procurement, category management, or supply chain coordination.
  • Expertise in data analysis and strategic decision-making.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across boundaries and empower others.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and commitment to excellence.
