About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Technician to join our engineering team at Firstbus Careers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical engineering operation, ensuring the highest standards of bus servicing, breakdown, and inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Bus Servicing and Maintenance: Oversee the servicing and maintenance of our bus fleet, ensuring all vehicles are in good working condition and meet the required safety standards.
  • Breakdown and Inspection: Diagnose faults, specify the correct method of repair, and ensure all repairs are completed to a high standard.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and regulations, and maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with new engineering and health and safety legislation, and implement changes as necessary to improve our processes and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong understanding of bus technology and maintenance.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues.
  • Continuous Learning: Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a desire to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.
