Role Overview

In the capacity of Senior Cloud Financial Analyst with a focus on FinOps, you will be instrumental in overseeing and enhancing our cloud financial operations. Your main objective will be to ensure our cloud infrastructure is cost-efficient, secure, and aligned with our strategic goals. You will work in close collaboration with IT, finance, and operational teams to deliver insights, strategies, and solutions that promote effective cloud utilization, expenditure management, risk mitigation, and governance.

Joining our newly established Cloud Hub team, you will be part of the Cloud Business Office (CBO), a centralized function that connects IT finance with business units, ensuring that cloud investments yield maximum value and align with the organization’s strategic vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud Financial Management: Supervise and optimize the financial operations of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring cost efficiency and transparency.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Formulate and maintain cloud budgets, forecasts, and financial models to facilitate business planning and decision-making.
  • Cost Optimization: Discover opportunities for cost reduction and implement best practices for managing cloud expenses, including resource optimization and right-sizing.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate comprehensive financial reports and dashboards to provide insights into cloud expenditures, trends, and discrepancies.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with IT, finance, and business teams to ensure cloud spending aligns with organizational objectives.
  • Vendor Management: Cultivate relationships with cloud service providers, negotiate contracts, and ensure adherence to service agreements.
  • Policy Development: Create and enforce policies and procedures for cloud financial management and governance.
  • Risk Management: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks associated with cloud operations, ensuring robust security and compliance measures are implemented.
  • Governance: Develop and execute governance frameworks to ensure effective oversight of cloud resources, compliance with regulatory standards, and alignment with corporate policies.
  • Training and Knowledge Sharing: Design and implement training initiatives to educate employees on cloud best practices, cost management, and compliance requirements, while fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration across the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying financial information to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Risk and Governance Expertise: Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing risk management and governance frameworks in a cloud context.
  • Experience: Background in cloud financial management or a related role, with a focus on FinOps.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), cloud cost management tools, and financial analysis software.
