Contract Type: 3 month rolling Contract (rate negotiable) or Permanent

Salary: £56,000 - £65,000 plus extensive benefits and significant pension

We are seeking a dedicated professional to oversee the enhancement of our security ID card operations across multiple sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and managing the technical security services related to Community Safety and Security. This includes overseeing the Lenel Security Access Control System (SACS), along with other critical systems such as Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), fire alarm monitoring, and emergency alert systems.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Management

  • Direct and manage the administration team responsible for Access Control and ID card services.
  • Support the broader Community Safety and Security personnel on protective security matters, ensuring safe operations through technical solutions.
  • Establish operational requirements to guide security system specifications.
  • Provide expertise to Professional Services colleagues regarding best practices and contractor management.
  • Participate in Project Engineering Review Meetings (ERM) and Technical Advisors Group Meetings (TAG) to advise on operational needs.
  • Act as the primary contact for technical security solutions in collaboration with external partners and emergency services.
  • Fulfill management duties that bolster the department's operational resilience, including event support and out-of-hours cover.
  • Mentor and develop team members, enhancing their skills and capabilities.

Technical Security Operations

  • Deliver a comprehensive service that meets protective security requirements.
  • Oversee daily operational activities and prepare for emergency situations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive overview of all technical security systems to ensure optimal functionality and protection of assets.
  • Ensure that detailed operating procedures are in place for daily activities, maximizing safety for all stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular audits of operating systems to enhance maintenance and repair programs in collaboration with the Maintenance team.
  • Advise on the development of Technical Security solutions aligned with operational requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Certification in Protective Security or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in an ID card or similar protective security environment, such as Higher Education or Healthcare.
  • Proven track record in managing Technical Security systems and projects.
  • Experience in leading and motivating staff effectively.
