Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead to join our Forensic Inpatient Team at Marlborough House, Milton Keynes. As a Specialist Clinical Lead Nurse, you will play a key role in promoting nurse-led psychosocial interventions and implementing the vision for inpatient care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a programme of individual and group psychosocial interventions, regularly evaluating their impact and incorporating patient and carer feedback.
  • Proactively engage with patients, families, and carers to build positive working alliances and support the provision of psychosocial interventions.
  • Support the wider nursing team in developing their skills in delivering psychosocial interventions through supervision and working within multidisciplinary teams to provide effective needs-led care for our patient group.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Registered mental health nurse
  • Experience of applying psychosocial approaches to clinical practice
  • Knowledge and understanding of psychosocial interventions
  • Excellent organisational skills and able to manage own time effectively
  • Has completed Brief Interventions Module (or equivalent) or be willing to undertake at the earliest opportunity

Desirable

  • Knowledge of monitoring systems, targets, and processes used within mental health
  • Understanding of/experience in quality improvement methodology
  • Experience of mental health nursing in secure settings

Personal Management/Qualities

  • Employs own strategies to manage stress conditions and promote/support emotional wellbeing and resilience
  • Excellent organisational skills and able to manage own time effectively
  • Able to meet the needs of the service in respect of flexible working hours, deployment, and work bases

Teaching/Education/Mentoring

  • Skills in supporting the development of the nursing team through teaching (1:1 and group)
  • Good presentation skills
