Job Summary

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our specialist provision in Chigwell. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex needs, aged 5-11 years, to access learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the direct instruction of teaching/senior staff to support access to learning for pupils and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.
  • Supervise and support pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning.
  • Establish good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs.
  • Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
  • Participate in students' behaviour programmes, including risk assessment processes.
  • Be aware of students' Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and termly forecasts/learning programmes.
  • Be aware of pupil progress/achievements and report to the teacher as agreed.
  • Support the teacher in managing pupil behaviour, reporting difficulties as appropriate.
