About PIMCO's Alternatives Platform

PIMCO has established a robust alternatives platform, with over $145 billion in assets under management. This platform is built on a disciplined investment process and institutional infrastructure, supporting $1.8 trillion in total assets under management. PIMCO offers a diverse range of hedge fund, quantitative, alternative credit, private credit, and real estate strategies, all grounded in core PIMCO capabilities across credit, global macro, commodities, volatility, and real estate.

Main Focus/Position Responsibilities

The Alternatives Strategist will play a key role in driving the development of PIMCO's alternatives business and range of offerings. This will involve working closely with functional specialist groups across the firm to identify opportunities for growth and innovation. The successful candidate will also partner with business leaders and investment teams to execute on distribution strategy and serve as a proxy for portfolio managers in speaking to clients and consultants about PIMCO's alternatives strategies.

Prior Experience Required

The successful candidate will have extensive professional experience in alternatives, with a strong track record of developing business. Deep knowledge of alternative investment strategies and private fund documentation is essential. Strong presentation skills, both verbal and written, are also required, as are abilities to navigate systems and work effectively in Excel. A solid grounding in fixed income and a CFA or similar qualification are important. The ideal candidate will bring a strong work ethic, high personal standards, and a collaborative approach. European language skills are a plus, but not required.
