Position Overview

Continuous Improvement Lead

Location: On-site.

Compensation: £65,000 - £70,000 + Vehicle Allowance + Benefits.

The Advocate Group is excited to collaborate with a prominent organization in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector that is committed to ongoing growth. We are seeking a Continuous Improvement Lead to assist in realizing a defined manufacturing vision and strategy through ongoing enhancements, minimizing waste and variability, and fostering a proactive culture of improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion lean manufacturing methodologies such as 5S, Autonomous Maintenance (AM), and root cause analysis to promote continuous enhancement.
  • Establish and oversee the medium to long-term operational excellence agenda.
  • Conduct comprehensive gap assessments across site processes and performance metrics.
  • Enhance technical and behavioral competencies within the Senior Leadership Team to nurture a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate and spearhead initiatives aimed at reducing production costs and optimizing resource utilization.

General Duties

  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
  • Comprehend and apply the Princes Manufacturing System (PMS) and the Site Must Win Battle Plan.
  • Promote company values to enhance Quality, Safety, and Environmental practices.
  • Support ethical trading and human rights objectives in all stakeholder interactions.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience at the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) level with team management responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated success in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED), Kaizen, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)).
  • Background in FMCG or high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Exceptional interpersonal abilities to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capability to inspire, mentor, and engage teams in adopting new skills and operational methodologies.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, coaching, and development capabilities.
