Join Our Team as a Cost Estimator and Project Analyst

We invite you to become a part of RW Armstrong, a respected family-owned enterprise with a legacy of over 65 years in the construction sector. Our division in Dorset is dedicated to delivering exceptional projects, from contemporary constructions to historical restorations.

As a Cost Estimator and Project Analyst at RW Armstrong, your primary focus will be on overseeing the financial dimensions of our projects, ensuring their successful execution through effective teamwork. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing several projects concurrently with efficiency
  • Maintaining stringent oversight of variations, pricing, and documenting their effects on final accounts
  • Leading the calculation and preparation of company valuations and concluding accounts
  • Preparing and presenting monthly financial analysis reports
  • Evaluating and enhancing existing methods and procedures
  • Overseeing subcontract orders, applications, and inquiries
  • Collaborating with site managers to document variations and ensure prompt communication
  • Effectively communicating on all aspects affecting project performance
  • Ensuring timely reminders and collection of retentions
  • Formatting valuations and final accounts to meet specific requirements
  • Ensuring accurate VAT assessments and calculations

Qualifications for the Position

  • HNC in Construction or a related Degree
  • In-depth knowledge of private residential building contracting
  • Understanding of property taxation issues and contractual law
  • Technical knowledge of both traditional and modern construction methods
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly with intermediate Excel skills
  • Strong numerical and financial management capabilities
  • Clear and effective communication skills

Working Schedule

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Friday: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, including a 45-minute break each day
