Join Our Team as a Cost Estimator

We invite you to become a part of RW Armstrong, a reputable family-owned enterprise with a legacy spanning over 65 years in the construction sector. Our division is dedicated to delivering exceptional projects, including both new constructions and the restoration of historical buildings.

As a Cost Estimator at RW Armstrong, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the financial aspects of various projects, ensuring their successful execution through teamwork and collaboration. Your duties will include:

  • Effectively managing several projects at once
  • Keeping a close watch on changes, pricing, and documenting their effects on final accounts
  • Leading the calculation and preparation of company valuations and final accounts
  • Preparing and presenting monthly job cost analysis reports
  • Evaluating and enhancing existing methods and procedures
  • Managing subcontract orders, applications, and inquiries
  • Coordinating with site managers to document variations and ensure prompt communication
  • Effectively communicating on all issues affecting project performance
  • Ensuring timely reminders and collection of retentions
  • Formatting valuations and final accounts to meet specific requirements
  • Ensuring accurate VAT assessments and calculations

Qualifications for the Position

  • HNC in Construction or a relevant Degree
  • Comprehensive knowledge of private residential building contracting
  • Understanding of property taxation matters and contractual law
  • Technical knowledge of both traditional and modern construction methods
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly with intermediate Excel skills
  • Strong numerical and financial management abilities
  • Clear and effective communication skills

Work Schedule

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Friday: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, including a 45-minute break each day
