Key Responsibilities:
- Building and leading a high-performing planning team, motivating and developing their performance.
- Developing and maintaining existing client relationships and generating new business opportunities.
- Managing client expectations and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Project managing a mix of planning submissions and appeals, ensuring timely and successful outcomes.
- Preparing and submitting high-quality tender responses that meet client needs.
- Conducting strategic planning research and policy development, including assessments of development potential and feasibility studies.
- Making site inspections and assessing the merits of proposals, providing expert advice to clients.
- Providing guidance to engineers and architects on the production of drawings and supplemental planning information.
- Leading the strategic management of planning projects, including financial management and budgeting.
- Expanding networks and building relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities and community groups.
- Mentoring team members through professional development processes and procedures.
- Managing and growing the fee pipeline, ensuring a strong and sustainable business.
Requirements:
- Chartered membership of The Royal Town Planning Institute or The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
- At least 7 years' experience in large-scale planning projects across various sectors in the private sector.
- At least 5 years' experience in leading and growing a planning team within a planning consultancy environment.
- A proven track record of sustainable business growth and client base expansion.
- Seasoned leadership experience, directing and developing a team to achieve exceptional results.
