About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Paediatric Dietitian to join our team at University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. As a Paediatric Dietitian, you will play a crucial role in providing specialist dietetic advice to inpatients and outpatients within the hospital and community settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist dietetic care for the management of children with a variety of conditions within an inpatient and outpatient setting.
  • Prioritize and provide specialist paediatric dietetic services to a range of acute care locations and specified clinics, liaising with colleagues across the health economy.
  • Provide specialist education and training to doctors, pharmacists, nurses, dietitians, and other professionals.
  • Undertake research and support audit opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, parents, carers, and professionals.
  • Support the provision of a comprehensive and high-quality paediatric dietetic service for both inpatients and outpatients, working to agreed standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide support to the development, implementation, and audit of dietetic protocols and pathways for infants and children within specialties.
Requirements
  • Registered dietitian (with relevant BSc, postgraduate diploma, or masters).
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Health Care Professions Council registration.
  • Demonstrate relevant work experience in paediatric dietetics within the NHS.
  • Worked as a dietitian in an acute care setting within the NHS.
  • Experience of working in different clinical settings.
  • Demonstrate evidence of MDT working.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience as a practitioner in paediatric dietetics.
  • Delivers work of consistent and predictable high quality.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work within and contribute to a team, including developing and maintaining effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders.
  • Willingness to support pre-registration practice training for student dietitians.
