PLC Software and Commissioning Engineer - The Role

We are seeking a skilled PLC Software and Commissioning Engineer to join our operations team at JBB Electrical Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for our clients in the food industry.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop PLC code to control refrigeration plants from customer specifications.
  • Create HMI screen layouts to ensure user-friendly interfaces.
  • Develop SCADA systems, including data and alarm logging, to monitor and control plant operations.
  • Work closely with customers to ensure contract requirements are met and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Collaborate with our control panel designers to select the correct PLC and IO for projects.
  • Commission on-site with the team and customer's commissioning engineers to ensure smooth plant operations.
  • Visit sites to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring minimal downtime.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in PLC coding and control systems design.
  • Customer-facing experience, ideally from a commissioning position.
  • Strong understanding of project timelines and right-first-time approach.
  • Knowledge of Siemens TIA portal is an advantage.
  • Commitment to ongoing self-development and staying up-to-date with industry advancements.
