Position Overview

Merrifield Consultants is excited to collaborate with a prominent charity focused on children's welfare to recruit a Lead Fundraising Manager for Trusts and Statutory Sources. This role is integral to the organization, primarily focusing on generating new funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, and governmental sources that have not previously engaged with the charity.

Reporting Line: Head of Trusts and Statutory Fundraising

Salary Range: £44,700-47,000

Contract Type: 1 Year Fixed-Term Contract (Maternity Cover), Full-time

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days in the office)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and cultivate a portfolio of potential funders, from initial research to proposal development and submission. Focus on securing significant contributions from new trust funders, particularly those with the potential for high-value gifts (£100k+).
  • Oversee a select group of existing trust and statutory partnerships, fostering strong relationships through a donor-centric approach and strategic planning.
  • Continuously assess income from your portfolio against targets, ensuring accurate monthly forecasts; contribute to team budget planning and manage associated risks.
  • Assist the Head of Trusts & Statutory Fundraising in collaborating with the Research, Programmes & Impact Directorate to create a diverse range of innovative and evidence-based proposals.
  • Monitor the external funding landscape to identify opportunities for income enhancement, with a specific emphasis on statutory and institutional fundraising.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven track record in securing substantial donations (£75k+) from new trusts and/or statutory sources, including the ability to navigate the entire process from identification to securing initial funding.
  • Experience in developing and managing intricate relationships with trust/statutory partners at the five- and six-figure donation levels.
  • Expertise in crafting complex, multi-year grant proposals.
