Key Responsibilities:

In this pivotal role, you will provide essential, proactive, and confidential assistance to a Service Director, allowing them and the organization to concentrate on key priorities and ensure the smooth operation of their respective services. Your responsibilities will encompass managing schedules, overseeing email correspondence, organizing agendas, taking minutes, and serving as a liaison to crucial corporate functions. You will also coordinate Councillor inquiries and internal governance procedures while being part of a well-established network of Executive and Personal Assistants for guidance and support when necessary.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of business administration practices and IT systems. Familiarity with local authority commissioning principles is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided. A minimum of A-C grades in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent experience is required. You should have a comprehensive understanding of essential business functions, including HR and finance operations, information management, risk assessment, customer service, and health and safety regulations. Knowledge of contracting within a local authority and experience with social care statutory services would be beneficial.

You will demonstrate the ability to anticipate challenges and offer solutions with a composed, balanced, and optimistic demeanor, showcasing sound judgment. Building strong and effective relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and service providers is crucial to support the council, communities, and broader operational services.
