Key Responsibilities:

In this pivotal role, you will provide essential, proactive, and confidential assistance to one of our Service Directors, enabling them and the organization to concentrate on key priorities and ensuring the smooth operation of their respective services. Your responsibilities will encompass effective diary management, email oversight, agenda organization, minute documentation, and serving as a liaison to critical corporate functions. Additionally, you will coordinate Councillor inquiries and internal governance processes while being part of a well-established network of Executive and Personal Assistants who are available for guidance and support.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of business administration processes and IT systems. Familiarity with the fundamental commissioning principles within local authorities is advantageous but not mandatory, as this knowledge can be imparted by the team. A minimum of A-C grade in GCSE English and Maths or an equivalent qualification is required, along with relevant experience. You should have a solid grasp of general business operations, including HR and finance procedures, information management, risk management, customer service, and health and safety protocols. An understanding of contracting within a local authority is desirable, as is experience with social care statutory services.

You will demonstrate the ability to anticipate challenges and devise solutions with a composed, balanced, and positive demeanor, showcasing sound judgment. Building strong and effective working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, partners, and providers is essential to support the council, communities, and our broader operational services.
