Consultant Medical Oncologist Breast Colorectal Research Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant Medical Oncologist to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279). The successful candidate will have a strong interest in breast and colorectal cancers and a passion for delivering high-quality clinical trials.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive oncology services to patients across Sussex, working closely with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, pharmacists, and cancer support workers.
- Lead and participate in clinical trials, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and research excellence.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of oncology services, including regular outpatient clinics, MDT attendance, and SACT prescribing and oversight.
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to junior medical staff and non-medical personnel.
- Participate in audit and quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care.
- Engage in teaching and education, supervising medical students, junior medical staff, and AHP/nurses, and contributing to the development of clinical skills and knowledge.
- Basic medical degree and MB BS, FRCR or equivalent specialist qualification.
- Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice and CCT in clinical oncology or equivalent.
- Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 12 months of the start date.
- Higher degree and research experience are desirable.
