Position: Underwriting Operations Technician, Aviation (6 Month Fixed Term Contract)

Role Overview

The Underwriting Operations Technician will play a vital role in supporting the Underwriting and Operations divisions, primarily through well-defined administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Input risk and policy information into the Underwriting systems, adhering to established Service Level Agreements.
  • Conduct peer-to-peer quality assurance checks within the defined Service Level Agreements.
  • Facilitate timely communication of all risk and policy inquiries through appropriate channels.
  • Manage unmatched USMs according to Service Level Agreements and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Ensure completion of all tasks required for month-end closing.
  • Assist with credit control, providing support to the credit control team regarding aged debt and excess cash queries as needed.
  • Participate in team, departmental, and divisional meetings to foster internal relationships and enhance business understanding.
  • Digitally scan and archive all documentation in the designated document management storage systems.
  • Verify that Underwriting files are comprehensive and accurate, obtaining any outstanding items from the underwriting team.
  • Contribute to and advance company projects as required.
  • Support the training of new team members and serve as a Subject Matter Expert when requested by management.
  • Perform other relevant ad-hoc tasks as assigned by management.

Candidate Profile

  • 6 months to 1 year of office experience.
  • Developed knowledge of the lines of business.
  • Proficient in data entry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as Underwriting systems.
  • Educational background: GCSE / A Level with at least 5 A – C grades at GCSE (including Mathematics).
