Job Overview

As a key member of the Management Team, you will play a vital role in shaping policies, procedures, and service enhancements that align with National Standards. Your leadership will guide a dedicated team of Social Work professionals committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of Children, Vulnerable Adults, and Communities. This position is essential in advancing the Council's primary objectives as outlined in the East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnerships Strategic Plan and the Council's Community Plan.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with the Management Team to develop and implement effective policies and procedures.

- Lead and support a team of Social Work employees in their mission to protect and enhance the wellbeing of vulnerable populations.

- Ensure compliance with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act in all regulated work.

Requirements

This role involves Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults. Successful candidates will need to become a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Record Update prior to receiving a formal job offer.

Employment References

In line with national guidelines for safer recruitment, candidates must provide at least two relevant references, including one from a current or recent employer, preferably from a senior manager.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, permanent position within the Learning Disabilities Team.

Work hours are Monday to Thursday, 9 AM to 5 PM, and Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM.

Salary Range - £46,000 - £50,000

The workstyle for this position is classified as 'Flexible', with 50% to 79% of your time spent in an office or multiple work locations.

Employees are expected to work at their administrative base or an agreed office location for 2.5 to 4 days per week, with occasional remote work.

It is anticipated that all office-based staff will adhere to the higher end of their designated workstyle in terms of time spent in the office or at other work locations.
