Mechanical Section Engineer

Job Overview
Nicholas Associates is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Section Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring the mechanical engineering management and standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment to improve plant operation and reliability.
- Planned Maintenance: Continuously develop and implement planned and preventative maintenance systems, including the creation of schedules and routines for shift-based teams.
- Electrical Engineering Operations: Plan and coordinate electrical engineering operations during plant shutdowns, including major maintenance activities.
- Budget Control: Contribute to annual and progressive plans for electrical maintenance budget control.
- Investigations and Solutions: Lead fault investigations for repeatable delays and failures, and define engineering solutions.
- Subject Matter Expert: Act as a subject matter expert for all failures, using in-depth knowledge to solve difficult engineering failures.
- Contract Management: Negotiate and manage key electrical maintenance contracts.
- Supplier Liaison: Liaise with external suppliers and contractors to provide solutions to production and engineering challenges.
- Documentation and Compliance: Provide the necessary documentation to cover all aspects of Health, Safety, and Environmental Control, including Permit Systems, Safe Working Procedures, Isolation/Immobilisation, and Environmental Management Systems.
- Second-Line Maintenance: Provide a second-line maintenance service for plant breakdowns.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform any other reasonable management requests.
