We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Mechanical Section Engineer to join our team at Nicholas Associates. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring mechanical engineering management and standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment to improve plant operation and reliability.
  • Planned Maintenance: Continuously develop and implement planned and preventative maintenance systems, including the creation of schedules and routines for shift-based teams.
  • Electrical Engineering Operations: Plan and coordinate electrical engineering operations during plant shutdowns, including major maintenance activities.
  • Budget Control: Contribute to annual and progressive plans for electrical maintenance budget control.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Lead fault investigations for repeatable delays and failures, and define engineering solutions.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Act as a subject matter expert for all failures, using in-depth knowledge to solve difficult engineering failures.
  • Contract Management: Negotiate and manage key electrical maintenance contracts.
  • Supplier Liaison: Liaise with external suppliers and contractors to provide solutions to production and engineering challenges.
  • Financial Management: Accountable for budgeting, forecasting, and receiving competitive quotes for all work to be undertaken.
  • Plant Development: Develop plant to improve performance and reliability.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Control: Provide the necessary documentation to cover all aspects of Health, Safety, and Environmental Control, including Permit Systems, Safe Working Procedures, Isolation/Immobilisation, and Environmental Management Systems.
  • Second-Line Maintenance: Provide a second-line maintenance service for plant breakdowns.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform any reasonable management request.
