About the Role

Ventry Care Homes is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Coordinator to join our team. As an Activities Coordinator, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents by planning and delivering a varied activities program that promotes independence, choice, and dignity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and participate in key events throughout the year, including seasonal celebrations, parties, and charity events.
  • Plan and deliver a range of activities, both within and outside the care home, to cater to the diverse interests and needs of our residents.
  • Motivate and inspire our residents by getting to know them as individuals, their interests, life stories, and families.
  • Support resident and relative meetings and participation forums.
  • Develop a resident newsletter to keep them informed and engaged.
  • Cultivate feedback from residents, their families, and staff to ensure the activities offered meet their needs and choices.

Requirements
  • Level 2 (QCF) Supporting Activities Provision in Social Care qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience working with older people and those living with dementia.
  • A caring and compassionate attitude.
  • An outgoing personality with a sensitive sense of humor.
  • The ability to lead and motivate volunteers.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • The ability to organize and prioritize workload.
  • Responsible decision-making in the best interests of our residents.
