About the Role

National Grid ESO is undergoing a transformative journey to create a cleaner, greener, and more affordable energy system. As Senior Lead in the Dispatch and Balancing Strategy team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing the electricity markets that support a secure, decarbonized energy system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement robust quantitative and qualitative data-driven analysis of key GB electricity market outcomes
  • Contribute to policy development, including writing papers and developing effective frameworks for assessment
  • Interface with stakeholders to understand the implications of design proposals

About You

Market Design and Strategy

  • Ability to think imaginatively and conceptualize the impact of net zero on the GB power system
  • Understanding of GB electricity market design, including experience in the regulatory or policy arena
  • Knowledge of key energy policy instruments and economics of investment in GB electricity assets

Analytical Thinking

  • Evidence-led approach to developing strategy, with proven ability to use quantitative and qualitative evidence
  • Proficiency in the use of Excel

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and present complex issues to diverse audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to influence and work effectively with stakeholders

What You'll Get
