Role Overview: The selected candidate will be instrumental in overseeing the financial dimensions of our projects, encompassing everything from preliminary cost assessments to the finalization of accounts.

In collaboration with our project teams, the Construction Cost Manager will ensure timely project delivery while adhering to budget constraints and upholding the highest quality standards and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop precise and comprehensive cost estimates for structural and architectural steelwork, site erections, installations, and design services.
  • Conduct in-depth cost analysis and value engineering initiatives to enhance project cost efficiency and boost profitability.
  • Source subcontractor and supplier bids, negotiate contractual terms, and manage supplier relations to secure competitive pricing and prompt material and service delivery.
  • Track project expenditures throughout the project lifecycle, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective measures to maintain budgetary discipline.
  • Prepare and present interim valuations, progress reports, and final accounts in line with contractual obligations.
  • Engage with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to address any commercial challenges or disputes that may arise during the project.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory developments that could influence project costs or timelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction sector, particularly in structural and architectural steelwork projects.
  • A comprehensive understanding of construction contracts, procurement methodologies, and commercial management principles.
  • Exceptional analytical and numerical capabilities, with a proven ability to accurately estimate and evaluate project costs.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, fostering positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office applications.
