We are seeking a Legal Director to join the Construction Division of a prestigious, Legal 500 Law Firm.

About the Firm

Our client has a rich history in the legal sector, having been established for over a century. Located in a prominent legal district, the firm has evolved from its roots in Litigation to become a vibrant practice that caters to the diverse needs of clients both domestically and internationally.

The Construction Team, part of the highly regarded Real Estate Department, is looking for a seasoned Construction Solicitor at the Legal Director level, with the goal of advancing the successful candidate to Partnership in the near future.

The Role

The Real Estate practice has received numerous accolades for its proficiency, with many of its Lawyers recognized as 'Leading Individuals' in their field.

The Construction Team provides a comprehensive range of legal services, both contentious and non-contentious, to a variety of clients including developers, contractors, and financial backers. Their skilled Lawyers are adept in alternative dispute resolution (ADR), adjudication, comprehensive litigation, and arbitration.

As a Construction Solicitor and Legal Director, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating closely with the firm's Construction Partner to drive the department's growth
  • As a fee earner, preparing and negotiating various construction-related documents, such as contracts, professional appointments, development agreements, and warranties
  • Engaging in adjudication, arbitration, mediation, and/or litigation
  • Communicating with clients and opposing counsel, attending meetings, and negotiating with other parties
  • Actively pursuing business development opportunities for both existing and prospective clients

This position is ideal for an experienced and driven Construction Solicitor currently operating in a similar environment, ready to take on significant responsibilities from day one.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Construction Solicitor with a minimum of 6 years' PQE
  • In-depth experience in both contentious and non-contentious construction law
  • Strong academic background
