About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Oakfield House School. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of our pupils with autism and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with their learning through engaging and interactive activities.
  • Manage daily schedules, including activities, breaks, and rest time, to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
  • Provide personal care, including feeding, toileting, and changing, with sensitivity and respect.
  • Ensure the education environment is safe, well-maintained, and conducive to learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress, identifying areas for improvement and celebrating successes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths, and grade C or above in English or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with pupils with autism and complex needs.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
