Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Autism Support

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at Academics. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with severe learning difficulties, including those with Autism, Speech and Language needs, and other Special Educational Needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students
  • Provide behavior and pastoral support to students, promoting positive relationships and a safe learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with therapists, teachers, and other professionals to deliver targeted interventions and support students' learning and development
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other support plans
  • Provide personal care support to students, as needed
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills

Requirements:

  • Graduate or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy)
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with Autism and Speech and Language needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and training
